How to format a SanDisk memory card step by step



SanDisk are one of the best manufacturers of storage devices including memory cards. SanDisk card are mainly used by mobile phones and cameras to store data and expand the entire memory of smartphones. For some reasons, you may want to format your memory card in order to erase data or make the card compatible with other devices.   

Follow this instructions of formatting a memory card


1.       Look for the memory card SD card reader and insert the memory card.

2.       If your computer has a MicroSD slot, plug the SD-card to the port. If you are using a USB memory-card converter, plug the USB to your laptops USB port.

3.       Wait for your memory card to be detected by the computer and open “MY computer”

4.       You will see the name of your memory card in the list of all devices connected with your computer.

5.       Right-click on the memory card and scroll to an option named “Format”. Click on it and you will be promoted with a warning message that will ask you whether you would like to perform the action. Click on “Continue to Format” and wait for your computer to erase all data.

6.       When the process is finished, your memory card will be empty and the computer will display it’s memory capacity on the screen.

7.       Before, you remove your memory card from your computer, make sure to disconnect the device by using “Safely removable options” located at the bottom right corner of your computer screen. 

8.       Click on “Safely removable hardware and Eject media” icon located at the bottom right-corner of your screen. Select the memory card that you would like to eject and you will see a message box indicating that you can “safely remove your device”
