RISD was attended by 16,000 students, plus a capital of more than US $ 200 million. Founded in 1978, the School of Art and Design in Savannah (SCAD, for its acronym in English) is a relatively young school, compared to most, but it's still one of the best art institutions. It is also accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. SCAD has campuses in Atlanta, Savannah, Lacoste, and Hong Kong to enrich the diversity of students. Students can also study in Australia, Japan, China, Los Angeles and New York. Unlike other art schools, SCAD has a student body of 7,855 in progress. All applicants for admission, is selected to 64.3 percent, and the faculty has a 80.8 percent retention rate of freshmen.
