A recipe book can be a great asset to make money. Classes, groups or organizations can pool their favorite recipes, print, bind them in a book and sell them to get money. The books can also treat yourself to homemade recipes for a birthday, Christmas or other holiday and turn precious relics. Instead of paying for an expensive printing to compile recipes and bind them in a book, you can use Microsoft Word to write a book of recipes that look great.
Open Microsoft Word. In Word 2007, click the Office button and select the "New" option. In Word 2003 or earlier versions, choose "New" from the menu "File". Write "recipe" in the search box "Search Microsoft Online". Click on "Go".
Click on "cookbook" on the results of Office Online. Click the "Download" button. The cookbook template opens as a new Word document.
Select the text box that "Recipes" says clicking on some of the edges. Write a title for your book. If desired, change the cover photo by clicking on the image, going to the tab "Insert" (in Word 2007) or menu (in Word 2003 or earlier) and select a different picture.
Click on the "Chapters" table on page 2. Write the titles for each chapter. Wait to put page numbers until all recipes have been entered in the book.
Write an introduction for the book on page 3. Start writing the recipe on page 4 until all have been entered. Add an index at the end of the book, listing the recipes in alphabetical order. Back to page 2 and put the correct number the pages of all chapters.
Print the recipe book. Prints the first page of one side, then prints the remaining pages in duplex. Put the pages in 3 rings folders and to bind them.
