how to save a Word document as .doc, .htm, .html and .txt

Microsoft Word is the word processing program built into the Microsoft Office suite. This program allows you to create documents, papers and reports and save them in various formats. The program supports many different types of formats, including .doc, .htm, .html and .txt. Word can also convert any document from one type to another when necessary. You can select the file type in which you want to convert a document when you save it.

Instructions

   - Run Microsoft Word on your computer.
   
- Click the "Microsoft Office" button in the upper left corner.
   
 - Click "Open" and browse your computer for the document you want to convert. Double-click to load the document in Word. You can also create a new document from the default blank page that appears when you open Word.
   
-Click the "Microsoft Office" button and click "Save As" from the menu.
    
-Enter the document name in the text box "File name" if you have not yet named.
   
   - Click the dropdown menu next to "Save as type". You can select the file format of the document, including DOC, HTM, HTML or TXT. Save the document as a Word file to give it a .doc file extension. Save it as a website to give it a .htm or .html extension. Save it as plain text to give it a .txt extension.
   
    Press the "Save" button to save your file in the selected format.
